Choose your words carefully

Words change. Words we use for a long time, can new meanings today. Words can have different meanings in different cultures. Make sure you choose wisely or you can not your point across.

Words change meaning over time. I was with my daughter in the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" and pirate "booty" if they did because of my ignorance to mention embarrassed. For their intended prey buttocks or down (due to urban rap music). Something similar happened when IFind sandals. I asked my son if he wanted to say "belt" since when I remember that lingerie belt in those days. This gaffe (note I did not write "fox paws") have been accidentally on my side, but examples of how language can be temporary, short-lived and can cause discomfort or even completely sabotage a deal to offend someone unintentionally.

Technology has changed the meaning of words. Remember, if a firewall is stopped or delayed the spread of fire? Or if aVirus was something that a cold? Or if the train was just something a spider can? For me, Spam, canned meat and better with a fried egg and toasted rye bread and other unwanted email is spam about Viagra or low-cost loans. A hub is not the center of a wheel a long time ago, now has something to do with a computer network.

Culture are words and phrases have different meanings, even if the language is the same. In England could have promise, "Knock You Up" in theTomorrow, which means that they give you the phone. Another phrase UK "noise", which means that you're drunk. Of course, this would mean that you are angry in the United States. In the U.S., Barbie is a doll, while in Australia a "Barbie" It 's an outdoor grill.

Words are formed all the time. Some are trendy or temporary and will disappear soon, while other words have become permanent. Some words are created by manipulation of suffixes and prefixes. For example, the noun, if the aircraft is a prefix "de" create "landing" word, is something that repeated the little guy on Fantasy for Iceland, when he saw the landing aircraft is used. It also means out of the plane.

The technology is used to create compound words, which is the coupling of two common words in a new word to produce fresh and innovative sounds great. "Middleware" (a type of software) combines two common words, in order to make new ones. Or how about "guesstimate" is that a word blendedthat rates of use and value as the root words. The public loves technology abbreviations and acronyms. I bet you did not know that "JPEG" really means Joint Photographic Experts Group (not sure).

Sometimes the names to be part of our everyday language like "Google" to find something. My good friend Greg, who works for Yahoo, and questions why should I use such a limitation and offensive phrases. Watergate is a now a word that means corruption and fraud, instead of a hotel near WashingtonDC

The words change and so do their meanings. Think carefully before you speak and write in or e-mail.
